EXPLORATION PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT

The following assignments demonstrate RISC's experience and capability in Exploration Portfolio Management:

  • Review of new venture and exploration evaluation processes, tools and systems for an independent international oil and gas company.
  • Review of the exploration potential for conventional and coal seam gas in the Galilee Basin, Queensland.

  • Optimised appraisal planning to ensure that the exposure was commensurate with project development uncertainties and gas sales upside opportunities (Vietnam).

  • Assessment of regional exploration potential of all major sedimentary basins and emerging frontier areas (Australia).

  • Commerciality tests to assist with bidding for new offshore acreage (Australia).

  • Valuation and risking of exploration portfolio in a major onshore/offshore basin (East Africa).

  • Review of company exploration portfolio valuation process and procedures and independent valuation of the portfolio.

  • Independent valuation for tax purposes of exploration portfolio of an independent international oil and gas company.

  • Maximising portfolio value through “real time” decision analysis for exploration/appraisal programme sequencing.

  • Determination of minimum economic volume of reserves for offshore gas prospects (Australia).

  • Evaluation of a suite of deepwater exploration prospects (Philippines).

  • Assessment of the prospectivity of an onshore deep gas exploration and appraisal opportunity (China).

  • Developed a regional strategy for a major upstream operator.

  • Assisted an international operator to create a post-merger strategy.

  • Management and technical direction for play analysis of North Perth Basin

  • Independent assessment of petroleum prospectivity in onshore Queensland Galilee Basin including seismic interpretation/mapping, play analysis, prospect definition and risking

  • Facilitate a strategy workshop for exploration focussed client and follow up research as required

  • Evaluation of seven onshore licences for bids in the NELP-VII round

  • Multiclient study on selected Australian offshore acreage for release in 2008

  • Technical and commercial evaluation of a highly prospective deepwater block in SE Asia for a National Oil Company

  • Evaluation of Beagle sub-basin and Yampi shelf blocks

  • Review companies prospect portfolio to determine economic cut-off and valuation models to assist client acreage strategy

  • Present industry course on petroleum geology of SE Asia

  • Assist client team with evaluation of exploration prospects in Sumatra, Indonesia

  • Seismic Interpretation of prospects in Kurdistan

  • Daily monitoring of two exploration wells being drilled in Timor Sea JPDA.

  • Provide technical input, support and attend TCM/OCMs on  behalf of client for blocks offshore Thailand
